Text of Press Conference By The National Chairman of The Citizens Democratic Alliance, Citizen Tamunotonye Samuel Solomon Inioribo

We thank the Federal High Court for its judgment, which has now cleared the legal path for the Citizens Democratic Alliance. That chapter is closed.
As our banner rightly declares, the litigation chapter is over. The nation-building chapter begins.
We do not come with empty promises or recycled rhetoric. We come with a clear vision and a detailed roadmap for transformational change.
Nigeria's greatest challenge is structural. An over-centralised system that concentrates power and opportunity in the hands of a few, while leaving the majority behind. This has bred inefficiency, inequality, insecurity, and declining public trust. The status quo is no longer sustainable.
The Citizens Democratic Alliance offers a different path. We are a progressive social democratic movement that believes in a mixed economy, where private enterprise drives innovation and growth, while government guarantees fairness, equal opportunity, and protection for the vulnerable.
We stand for true federalism, including asymmetrical federalism, which allows federating units the flexibility to develop according to their unique capacities, resources, and aspirations, while maintaining national unity and protecting minority rights. We will pursue comprehensive constitutional reform that strengthens our federation through justice, equity, and the devolution of powers.
We will fight corruption with transparency and technology, and rebuild strong, independent institutions that serve the people rather than elites.
On the economy, we will pursue rapid industrialisation, modern infrastructure, agricultural transformation, a thriving digital economy, and meaningful support for small and medium enterprises. Our goal is shared prosperity, not growth that benefits only a few.
Technology will not merely support governance; it will transform it. We will digitize public services, deploy artificial intelligence to improve planning and service delivery, expand broadband infrastructure, protect digital rights, and position Nigeria as Africa's leading technology and innovation economy.
We place our young people at the very centre of our agenda. With one of the youngest populations in the world, Nigeria's greatest asset is its youth. From basic literacy to STEM education, vocational training, digital skills, and artificial intelligence, we will build an education system that prepares our young people to compete globally. We will treat access to quality education as a fundamental right of every citizen.
We will expand quality healthcare delivery, strengthen health insurance, and ensure that quality healthcare is accessible and affordable. We will also launch a massive affordable housing programme, so that no Nigerian is condemned to live in slums or homelessness.
Security is the bedrock of national progress. A CDA government will carry out bold and comprehensive security sector reform. This includes the establishment of state and community policing, decentralised intelligence gathering at the local level, and effective coordination between federal, state, and community institutions. We will modernise national intelligence through technology, surveillance, artificial intelligence, forensics, and data integration, while empowering communities to participate actively in their own safety. We will tackle both the symptoms and the root causes of insecurity, especially youth unemployment and social exclusion, with firmness, professionalism, and respect for human rights. Enough of insecurity defining the Nigerian story.
We are driven by social justice and the timeless principles of Liberty, Equality, and Unity. Every policy we pursue will seek to reduce inequality, protect the vulnerable, uphold the dignity of labour, promote gender equity, and guarantee equal citizenship and equal opportunity for all, regardless of ethnicity, religion, gender, or economic status.
We will also undertake fundamental governance reform. We propose a mixed parliamentary system, with a ceremonial President as Head of State, and an elected Prime Minister as Head of Government, fully accountable to Parliament. We will introduce Mixed Member Proportional Representation to make every vote count, reduce winner-takes-all politics, encourage coalition-building, and promote wider inclusion. We will replace the current Senate with a leaner, more effective Federation Council that protects our federal balance, strengthens constitutional oversight, and reduces the cost of governance without weakening democracy.
Fellow Nigerians, the Citizens Democratic Alliance is not built around personalities. It is built around principles. It is not founded on convenience. It is founded on conviction. It is not a platform for political migration. It is a governing movement committed to building a prosperous, secure, just, and united Nigeria.
Today, we are not presenting slogans. We are presenting ideas. Every proposal we have outlined is supported by our detailed Manifesto and Governance Blueprint, which serves as our social contract with the Nigerian people.
This is the Nigeria we are committed to building: A Nigeria that is secure, educated, healthy, well-housed, just, productive, and united in diversity.
To every Nigerian, young and old, at home and in the diaspora, who believes that our country can and must do better, this is your movement. This is your platform. We believe in Nigeria's potential. We believe our country deserves better. And we have the courage to build it.
The task ahead is great. But so is our collective potential.
