Meet the Founder & National Chairman

Tamunotonye Samuel Solomon Inioribo is the Founder, National Chairman and Visionary of the Citizens Democratic Alliance (CDA), a progressive social democratic political party established to build a productive, just and prosperous Nigeria founded on the enduring principles of liberty, equality and unity.

Born on 24 October 1987 and hailing from Okrika in Rivers State, he has been actively engaged in political thought and public affairs from an early age. His commitment to democratic governance evolved into active participation in mainstream politics in 2006, where he served in various youth organisations, party committees and strategic political initiatives while consistently advocating institutional reforms and issue-based politics.

A prolific political writer and public commentator, Tamunotonye has authored numerous articles on governance, constitutional reform, electoral systems, economic development and public policy. His writings have reached thousands of readers through digital platforms and continue to influence conversations on democratic development in Nigeria.

As Founder of the Citizens Democratic Alliance, he conceived the party as a new generation political movement driven by ideas, competence and institutional integrity rather than personality politics. Under his leadership, CDA has developed comprehensive policy papers, a modern party constitution and one of the country's most advanced digital party administration and membership management systems.

He also coordinated the Party's legal challenge that culminated in the landmark Federal High Court judgment directing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the Citizens Democratic Alliance, reinforcing the rule of law and expanding Nigeria's democratic space.

Known for his depth of knowledge across diverse disciplines, Tamunotonye is widely recognised as a strategic thinker whose analyses often lead observers to assume formal training in fields such as law, economics or political science. Rather than being defined by academic credentials, he believes that character, ideas, continuous learning and practical solutions ultimately determine leadership.

His political philosophy is anchored on productive governance, institutional accountability, economic freedom, social justice and equal opportunity. He maintains that government should create an environment where citizens, families and businesses can flourish through enterprise, innovation and hard work while ensuring fairness, transparency and the rule of law.

He is married and remains committed to keeping his family life private, preferring public attention to remain focused on the ideals, vision and mission of the Citizens Democratic Alliance rather than on his personal life.

Today, he continues to provide strategic leadership for the Citizens Democratic Alliance while advancing a long-term vision of building a competent, principled and policy-driven political party capable of transforming Nigeria through democratic leadership and responsible governance.
